From Cynthia: "Whoopie! So excited to officially announce that I will be teaching a four day painting workshop at the New Mexico Art League, this coming December! This is a screen shot from their website and here is the link https://newmexicoartleague.org/event-5368333. Check it out!! Going to be great fun teaching again!"

Workshop is designed to move artists forward in their painting journey. Students will be encouraged to stretch and express themselves in a new way, completing one fresh, all prima painting in each of the four days. We will be working from still life set ups of luscious, exotic florals, encouraging spontaneity that is energizing and fun! Bold, direct painting, emphasizing form and value shifts and directional light will be the focus. Cynthia will start each day with a demonstration focusing on a different topic or technique (light, composition, brushwork). The rest of the instruction will be individual throughout each day. A positive group review of students’ work will wind up the workshop with a wonderful display of progress made by everyone. Some painting experience is helpful.

Please sign up early; class size is limited to 12 students.

A 1-day introduction to the use of Dynamic Symmetry and Harmonic Armatures in Composition for beginning and advanced painters.

    Saturday, Nov 4. 9-4

At the fabulous Bluebird Studio in Santa Fe

From the Classical Greek Era to the present, artists have been using armature or grid systems based on musical and mathematical principles to help create harmonious paintings. The armatures form a scaffolding for paintings, providing stability and a road map for the design.

Participants will learn how to use armatures to design their paintings or to evaluate existing paintings. Examples of artwork will be analyzed -  participants' and Master Artist paintings.

Karen has a background teaching introductory math to liberal arts students. She has been a practicing artist in Santa Fe for over 20 years, after leaving the academic world and a career in computers in Manhattan.

    * "Radical"  is a play on words; it's the term Mathematicians use for 'root'; eg, square root. But in addition, radicals play a part in armatures.

I’m excited to share that beginning September 6, 2023, I’ll be mentoring artists with Mastrius, a creative company that brings motivated artists together from all over the world to be trained and supported online in their creative talent. This will be a small group of 3 to 8 artists, and a navigator who will help to make our monthly online sessions run smoothly.

Our mentorship group will dig into the technical aspect of painting through technique demos, art critiques, and much more! I’ll help boost your skill and confidence by developing homework tailored to your specific, personal goals. Between our monthly sessions you’ll work on the assignments, supported and encouraged by the artists in your group.

This mentorship program is starting Wednesday, September 6, and will meet monthly thereafter on the first Wednesday of the month at 5PM MT, (4 PM PT, 6PM CT, 7 PM ET, 12 Midnight BST, 9 AM AEST). Sessions will be recorded for anyone unable to attend the live meeting.

To sign up for one of the 8 spots that are available or to get more information about Mastrius and my Mentoring Group go to https://www.mastrius.com/peggy-immel-mentorship/. Register now to reserve your spot and don’t worry, you’re not locked in & you can cancel at any time.

I’d love to share what I’ve learned about art creativity and working as an artist over the years with you in this next stage of your creative journey.
