Rio Rancho Open Space - Willow Creek

Meet at the Visitor’s Center parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Saturday May 24th, 2014.

This paintout is sponsored by the Friends of the Rio Rancho Open Space and paintings done there will be eligible to be entered in the PAPNM Public Lands Exhibition.  The Friends group is one of the sponsors for the show and will have signs  to direct us.  The trail leads down to lovely views of the Rio Grande River.

Directions:
From I-25, take the Bernalillo/Placitas exit and head West on 550.  Turn left (south) onto 528 after the Star Casino.  Turn left (east) at the Willow Creek/Idalia stoplight after the Wal-Mart.  Take Willow Creek past the first housing area and then turn left onto the gravel road marked “bosque entrance.”  There is a parking area at the bottom of this road.  From there, the artists have many options of views to paint from Cottonwood forests, river sides, and bluffs overlooking the Rio Grande with the Sandias in the background.
