Villanueva State Park is a small park nestled between high red and yellow sandstone cliffs along the Pecos River and the old Spanish village of Villanueva. Visitors can access multiple viewpoints by way of a footbridge across the river. Fishing and rafting, dependent upon water level, are two popular activities. The number of campsites is somewhat limited.
Paintings done in Villanueva State Park are eligible for entry in the Art In The Parks show.
