This is a lovely spot for a painting of a wintery scene with the acequia, bare trees, and, with any luck, snow.

DIRECTIONS:

In Santa Fe:

From Cerrillos Road turn onto Baca St. Go several blocks on Baca until you see signs indicating a sharp right curve. Halfway through the curve take a left on Potencia Street. Go one block and take a left on Montano. The acequia runs parallel to Montano. There's a children's park on the right with parking along the street. Park at the park.

From Albuquerque:

Take I-25 north to Santa Fe to the St. Francis exit. Go North on St. Francis about 3 miles, take a left on Alta Vista St. (it's a stop light), go down to Cerrillos and take a left, and then an immediate right onto Baca St. Go several blocks on Baca until you see signs indicating a sharp right curve. Halfway through the curve take a left on Potencia Street. Go one block and take a left on Montano. The acequia runs parallel to Montano. There's a children's park on the right with parking along the street. Park at the park.

From Taos:

Take New Mexico 68 (Paseo del Pueblo Sur) south to Espanola. In Espanola, take US 84/285 south to Santa Fe where it becomes St. Francis Drive. In Santa Fe, turn right on Cerrillos Rd., then a right on Baca Street. Go several blocks on Baca until you see signs indicating a sharp right curve. Halfway through the curve take a left on Potencia Street. Go one block and take a left on Montano. The acequia runs parallel to Montano. There's a children's park on the right with parking along the street.  Park at the park.
