Carole is in the news along with the winners of the awards for the Los Alamos Paint Out!!!

At the 2023 Plein Air Painters of New Mexico (PAPNM) Los Alamos Paint Out and Show’s opening reception held Aug. 4, judge Carole Belliveau chose the best paintings of the artwork done over the previous week. She said she could have easily given out 10 awards instead of five.
The awards are as follows:
- Best of Show: “Worldly Journey” by Deanne Kroll, Oil, 16”x16”;
- Second Place: “Camp May Aspens” by Rachel Pearson of Los Alamos, Pastel, 12”x16”;
- Third Place: “Evening Farewell” by Lynn Kearny, Pastel, 9“x12”;
- Honorable Mention: “Volcanic Capstone” by Ginny Bracht, Gouache, 10”x8”;
- Best of the Tiny Treasures: “White Rock Overlook” by Wendy Ahlm, Watercolor, 2“x3”; and
- First Place Quick Draw: “Tree at Fuller Lodge” by Marcia Williams at the Aug. 2 contest.
The Best of Show painting by Deanne Kroll was sold at the opening reception.
All other paintings are available for purchase at the exhibit in Fuller Lodge Art Center until Saturday, Sept. 2. Their hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free.
