Questions about supplies

I have a chair/pack combo that I picked up at Jerry's Artarama - very similar to Guerilla. Not perfect but I like it as I have bad knees and sit to paint most of the time. I also carry their umbrella, I think it's called the Shadebuddy. It is long, comes spare, sticks into the ground and can be angled every which way.

    Good luck!

    Hi Jesse

I use a beach cart to haul my supplies. I think it might be helpful. A lot depends on if you are flying.  I have an extra Bestbrella you are welcomed to use.  It is missing a pole length but plenty long.   The 2 things to worry about are shading your work so you can see what you are doing and our high winds.  Make sure you have a system to keep your apparatus from blowing over.

If you want the Bestbrella you will have to remind me to bring it Fri night.  My email is Marilyn.wightman@sbcglobal.net.  Are you Mary Olivera's friend?  If so I've met you!

    Hi everyone,

I am already trying to get my supplies together for the festival as I will be traveling right up until June 2nd and have to order everything I might need now. I’m an oil painter and use panels in my 9 x 12 guerrilla painter box. In the past I have lugged a camping chair around the various sites and just sat to paint, usually under a tree or some naturally-found shade.

I was wondering if anyone has used a Guerilla Painter Bestbuddy chair/cart on wheels or something comparable and if it is a good idea for the festival. I want to be comfortable getting everywhere I would like to paint but I am also trying to keep expenses down. And then there is the umbrella conundrum. Any umbrella I have set up always blows down/gets damaged by wind… any suggestions to a good brand or set-up? Is a good umbrella more of a necessity than a chair/cart? Any tripod suggestions would also be very welcome.

Thanks for any input you might have on this. Can’t wait to paint with you all!
